The job, in three frames

How the job runs with J.O. Construction, in the order it happens.

  1. Foundation forms and plumbing stubs ready for concrete

    Step 1: Forms and rebar

Forms set, rebar tied and plumbing stubbed, then the inspection.

  2. Concrete trucks and a pump pouring a custom home foundation

    Step 2: Pour day

Pump and trucks on site, the concrete placed in one day.

  3. Aerial view of a slab pour with crew working the concrete

    Step 3: Finish and cure

The crew works the surface, then the slab cures before framing or traffic.

Concrete we pour

Footings, slab-on-grade foundations, stem walls, driveways, walkways and patio slabs. Each one gets forms, rebar and an inspection before the trucks come.

Concrete jobs near Chino

Recent pours: a 750 sq ft ADU slab in Fontana, an 85-yard ADU foundation in Rancho Cucamonga, and a custom home foundation in La Cresta that took a pump truck and a full day.

What decides the cost

Yards of concrete, depth of footings, rebar schedule, pump access and how far the trucks have to reach. We measure and quote it in writing.

Is this the right call for your project?

Call us for this when

  • Your build starts with a foundation or slab
  • You need footings or stem walls done to plan and inspected
  • A driveway or patio slab is part of a bigger job

Pick something else when

  • It is a commercial structure, not only the concrete: see commercial construction
  • The job needs several trades, not only concrete: see the licensed contractor overview
  • A decorative overlay or stain on an existing slab: that is a specialty finisher, and we will tell you so

After the final inspection: keeping it in shape

  1. Stay off it while it cures

Foot traffic after a day or two, cars after about a week on flatwork. Framing can start within days on a foundation.

  2. Hairline cracks are normal

Concrete shrinks as it cures. Control joints are cut so most of it happens there.

  3. Seal flatwork every few years

A sealer on a driveway or patio keeps water and oil from soaking in.

Concrete questions from Chino owners

Do I need a permit for a concrete slab in Chino?

A structural slab or foundation in Chino needs a permit and a footing inspection. Simple flatwork such as a walkway often does not. We check with the city before forming.

How soon can you build on a new slab?

Framing can usually start within days of a slab pour. The concrete keeps gaining strength for weeks, but it carries framing loads early.
